Shakespeare In The Garden - Love's Labour's Lost

THIS SUMMER, SOAK UP SOME SHAKESPEARE IN THE GARDEN WITH FULLER'S

After a somewhat disrupted year, we're all in need of a “Summer of Love” more than ever. Open Bar are back with two plays that are full to the brim with comedy, romance and adventure!

Experience Shakespeare as it was intended - informal, raucous and in a spacious pub garden with a drink in hand. Whether this will be your first, or thirty-first night of Shakespeare, you will not be disappointed.

LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST

Four couples separated by an oath, a “fantastical spaniard” longing for a forbidden love, misplaced letters, a ridiculous play-within-a-play, a chorus of ukuleles, lightning-fast costume changes, drinks at your fingertips...could Open Bar be back in Fullers pub gardens with their unique, modern and fast-paced production of Love's Labour's Lost?

Four actors will play all seventeen characters in this mischievous, and rather pertinent, love story. We can't wait to bring you the kind of entertainment we all deserve this summer: laughter, romance and, perhaps most importantly, the longest word in Shakespeare!

To ensure that customers enjoy Fuller's Shakespeare in the Garden safely, we are following government guidance for outdoor theatre. Tickets are priced at £18 per person. Please get in touch if you have any questions.

As You Like It

Run away with Rosalind and Celia as the Forest of Arden quite literally lands in your local pub garden this summer.

It may look fresh out of Shakespeare’s day, but Open Bar makes sure it’s as relevant as ever, with original songs to help you follow the plot and six actors leaping around our two-storey set, what more could you ask for this summer?!

Oh yes, a pint in your hand and a friend by your side!

You will gasp at the spectacle, laugh til your sides hurt and be humming the tunes for weeks afterwards. We can’t wait to see you there!

Bearcat Running Club

Founded in 2012 by Caitlin Limmer The Bearcat Running Club meets inside the Turks Head Pub at 8.30am and is under the umbrella of Run England.

The ethos of the club is "the people come first, the running comes a very close second".  It is a hugely supportive group of on average 70-90 runners who meet up and run in 7 different ability groups every Sunday with a UKA Leader in Running Fitness in each group.

The club is not only passionate about running but they also get involved in the community raising large amounts of money for charity.  It is a non competitive club, but this does not mean that the runner do not achieve great things, this year we had 80 runners completing the Great South 10 mile run, 30 of our runners will be doing Brighton Marathon this year, and we have our own sell out race every year - The Turks Head 10k Fun Run - which has 850 entrants and is a one day party from the start line to the finish with a wonderful band and BBQ in the pub after.

Click here to enter the race

We are a hugely social club, with our legendary Christmas Party, Christmas club morning, Anniversary party every year, Wednesday night training nights with Hei Hing Noodle bar after, runs in Bushy park and Richmond park, plus attending running events together regularly.
If you have ever been put off by the words "RUNNING CLUB" - The Bearcat Running Club is different, along with its founder it has even been recognised by Richmond Council in 2014, and The Prime Minister with a Points of Light award in 2015.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO GIVING YOU A WARM WELCOME.

Pub Choir

A trip to your local pub, a glass of your favourite tipple and a chance to sing your heart out - what could be better? The Pub Choir is a great way to socialise with friends, enjoy a drink and learn to sing new and familiar songs in the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of a pub.

Turn up, buy a drink and then sing! Each session costs £5. Lyric sheets are provided and Carl will teach 3 or 4 songs throughout the evening. With his expert direction, you will also learn the basics of good singing technique, as well as have the chance to sing in 2 or 3 part harmony. Towards the end of the evening, a live recording is taken to share with your friends, family and the rest of the world!

There is absolutely no need to have any previous singing experience or know how to read music.
